So, I looked through your work to see the meeting of Elektra and Happy. If this is both him and her I have to wonder what he thinks he's doing going one-on-one with someone that nearly tore his whole command cell apart in hand to hand by herself.
Also, Trump as your coauthor? That was a struggle, and I suspect you failed to make it sleazy, greedy, corrupt, vain, shallow and senile enough.
OK, more coherently: that's a pretty good point that Happy is being overconfident in this encounter.
I would argue that he's got at least one trick up his sleeve. Also, Tona Zehm's crew got pretty thoroughly thrashed even though they got the jump on the Smileys in Volume 5. Maybe he's prideful, and wants a one-on-one with Greco?
I dunno. I write these things on the fly, and I'll be honest that I'm not entirely sure who wins this encounter. I had assumed Happy would...
I could see it if he's too angry to think straight. Still, how someone prone to that survived being a Cold Warrior is a bit odd for someone that isn't significantly lucky. I thought "wetwork" involves a whole lot of preparation, and being good at making and acting appropriately on tactical assessments in situ.
On second thought, he could have an unreasonably high opinion of himself. If one prowls around killing enough poorly defended people they may overestimate their own capabilities quite drastically due to a lack of challenge.
